An individual registered nurse or registered midwife or group of registered nurses or group of registered midwives may be nominated by national nursing authorities or by individual or group of individuals in nongovernmental capacity, as candidates of the Award. Nominations are submitted to the Secretary General of the Princess Srinagarindra Award before May 31st each year.

Eligibility Criteria

Each nominee for the Princess Srinagarindra Award must:
  1. Have a qualification of a Registered Nurse and or Registered Midwife and is authorized to practice as a nurse in her/his own country.
  2. Be a citizen in the country of   the world.
  3. Have made a significant contribution, through direct care, research, education or management, within the nursing and or midwifery profession and/or for the development of the nursing and or midwifery profession, health system and/or health of people.
  4. Have made the contribution during the years immediately preceding the award or as a cumulative effort that continues to the present time.

Screening and selection

The secretary General of the Princess Srinagarindra Award Foundation transmits all nomination forms to the Chairman of the Panel of Scientific Advisors for initial screening. Once approved by the Panel of Scientific Advisors, the nomination forms are forwarded to the International Award Committee, which comprises a number of world-renowned experts in the fields of nursing and public health. The International Award Committee considers and recommends names of the proposed awardee to the Board of Trustees of the Princess Srinagarindra Award Foundation for final approval.

The nomination will be considered under the following criteria.

        2.   Practical Importance

        3.   Significance to nursing and midwifery / health / policy at  the national and/or international levels
        4.   Devotion and Commitment
        5.   Achievement/recognition at the national and/or international levels
        6.   Leadership and management capability
