SUBJ:      Royal Permission to Name the Award and the Award Foundation after H.R.H.
              Princess Srinagarindra, and Royal Mercy to Grant Royal Patronage to the  Award Foundation 
TO:         President of Thailand Nursing Council
REF:       The Letter of Thailand Nursing Council No. Sor Por. Por. 01/05/958  dated 14th June, 2000

                Pursuant to the referenced letter requesting to respectfully inform H.M. the King on the occasion of the Centenary Birthday Anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, Thailand Nursing Council would like to hold a ceremony in H.R.H. Princess’s honor, and present an award to one of the practitioners of the nursing and midwifery profession working in South Asian and Southeast Asian countries, totally 23 countries.  The first ceremony would be held on 21st October, 2000, and on 21st October of each year onward. Therefore, Thailand Nursing Council would like to request H.M. the King’s Royal Mercy on the following issues:
                 1.1. Request Royal Permission to name the Award and the Award Foundation after H.R.H. Princess Srinagarindra;The Award was named in Thai as “รางวัลสมเด็จพระศรีนครินทราบรมราชชนนี” andsimilarly in English as “Princess Srinagarindra Award.”  The Award Foundation was named in Thai as “มูลนิธิรางวัลสมเด็จพระศรีนครินทราบรมราชชนนี” and similarly in English as “Princess Srinagarindra Award Foundation.”
                 1.2  Request Royal Mercy to grant Royal Patronage to the Award Foundation. H.M. the King has respectfully been informed, and graciously grants Royal Permission to name the Award and the Award Foundation after H.R.H. Princess Srinagarindra, both in Thai and English as proposed in 1.1 and 1.2, and Royal Mercy to have the Award Foundation under Royal Patronage from 19th October, 2000.
